Apple Music motion covers that open on your artwork.

Apple asks for two moving versions of the cover — a square and a tall 3:4 — that begin and end on the still artwork and loop without a seam. LimeLight renders both from one card: the artwork pulls back into the scene over the first second and a half, moves with the song's most intense stretch, and returns to the cover at the end. Rotor charges two credits — about twenty dollars — for one.

It reads the whole song first — drops, choruses, sections you can drag — then draws. A live visualizer only notices a drop after it has happened.

The Big cover look, live on the demo song. With yours, the colours come from your artwork and the motion from your music.

Square at 3840 (2160 where this computer's encoder stops short) and tall at exactly 2048 × 2732 — Apple's own sizes, twenty seconds each.

The first frame IS the artwork — full-bleed on the square, on its own blurred fill on the tall one — and the last second returns to it, so the loop opens and closes on the cover as Apple asks.

Kept calm like the Spotify Canvas — flashes down, no cuts, no glitch — because a motion cover plays under a thumb, not on a screen.

Questions

What sizes does it make?

A 1:1 loop at 3840 × 3840 (2160 if the browser cannot encode 4K) and a 3:4 loop at 2048 × 2732, both 20 seconds, both opening and closing on the still cover. Your distributor uploads them with the release.

Is it free?

Yes — the Apple Music card renders both covers at Apple's sizes on every plan, with nothing on the picture (a loop carries no end card). The release pack (Creator, or a $4 release pass for one song) makes them alongside the 16:9 and 9:16 videos, the teaser, the Spotify Canvas, the Suno loop and the thumbnail.

Free: unlimited 1080p exports, every look, no watermark. Creator $10/month: 1440p, 60 fps, every format at once, no end card. Or a Release pass: $4 once for one song. Plans
